The American singer-songwriter, Aretha Franklin, originally released her debut album on February 29, 1961, via Columbia Records. The album features the Ray Bryant Combo and showcases Aretha's covers of a range of jazz and pop standards. Franklin won 18 Grammy Awards, including the first eight awards given for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (1968–1975), a Grammy Awards Living Legend honour and Lifetime Achievement Award.
