Made in the tradition of the original goblet-shaped drums found throughout Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Southern Asia, the Copper Darbuka from MEINL is meticulous in design, carefully balancing the line between history and modernity to give musicians something unique and valuable. Thin shells in various metals have been used to build this drum while the head is secured and tuned with external rings set close to the shell, offering a full, rounded and rich profile of bass that is projected powerfully and detailed by high-pitched snapping sounds as well as a wide range of articulated "doum" and "tak" sounds.
